insight on Coached workouts

Regardless of individual goals and focus, the pool is a fantastic place to enjoy yourself with a great group of friends!

Whether swimming for fitness and fun, or swimming with competition in mind, The Club is a great place to find new friends  and create lasting memories, all while getting in great shape!

Here’s what you should expect from your coaches

  • Structured Workouts: Each session will focus on enhancing both fitness and technique, clearly explaining the purpose behind every set to ensure that every swimmer understands their goals.
  • Individualized Attention: Coaches will treat each swimmer as a unique individual, considering their background, abilities, and personal goals, while encouraging them to reach their full potential.
  • Constructive Feedback: Expect feedback that suits your specific needs, focusing on both the quality and quantity of guidance to support your growth.

Here’s what the coaches expect from the swimmers

  • Self-Understanding: Take the time to reflect on what you want from your workouts, including your competition aspirations, preferred strokes and distances, and your overall fitness and performance goals.
  • Health Awareness: Collaborate with your healthcare professionals to understand any limitations or necessary adaptations, and take responsibility for aligning your workout strategy with your health needs.
  • Open Communication: Share your goals, limitations, and concerns with your coaches. Honest communication is essential for your development.
  • Seek Clarification: If something is unclear or seems inconsistent with previous information, don’t hesitate to ask your coaches for clarification.
  • Embrace Team Spirit: Enjoy the social aspects of Club membership by having fun with your teammates and contributing to a positive atmosphere during practices. This includes being respectful and willing to share lanes and swim in circles when needed.

Here are some general workout concepts to consider

Improving your technique can yield greater benefits than sheer effort alone; focusing on stroke development will pay off significantly in your performance. However, it’s essential to challenge your body to stimulate growth—without hard work, strength gains are unlikely.

Incorporating "dryland" stretching and weightlifting into your routine is helpful to this process. Remember, progress comes from a balance of hard work and recovery. As you age, your body may require more recovery time to adapt and grow stronger.

Pay attention to your body to find the right balance between effort and recovery for optimal results.
