Swim Club Update!
Happy Swim Season everyone!
I hope you had a wonderful, relaxing, and stimulating summer. Those of us who braved the monsoons had quite an impressive show throughout August. Those who are snowbirds, we look forward to your return to the Brooke soon.
The 2021/22 season is shaping up to be a great year. Coached workouts are scheduled to start September 20th. Your board has already met to schedule the year’s activities and what fun it will be with parties, events, and competitions in the works! In an effort to keep all the membership informed, the board plans to continue to publish a monthly update. Please watch for it in your inbox around the middle of every month! Each update will provide lots of great information and opportunities to get involved. I cannot wait to see everyone back at the pool!
Your board (Lyn Moreno, Jeanie Polak, Rick Veith, Joan Pierce, Phil Simpson, Jack Allison and Coach Terry) met on Wednesday September 8, 2021. Here are some of the highlights of that meeting.
Membership for the club runs October 1, 2021-Spetember 29, 2022. Dues remain at $20.00 for those under 85 years of age. Everyone will need to turn in a membership application. More information was sent in a separate email today.
All Club Meeting and Awards: Mark your calendar!!
October 20th at 4 pm in the East Ballroom at Mountain View will be our fall general meeting and All American Awards Ceremony. Please mark your calendar and plan to come to honor those swimmers who have achieved this prestigious designation. We will be reserving the East room afterwards for anyone who wants to share a celebratory toast or enjoy dinner together.
Coached practices begin the week of September 20. Coach Terry will put out more information in the next week with actual times and workouts, but tentatively, he is looking at 2 coached practices Monday, Wednesday, Friday (7&8:30 am) and 3 coached practices Tuesday, Thursday, Saturdays (7, 8:30, 9:50am). Please have your emergency information form on your swim bags. Forms are on our web sites and the plastic sleeves can be picked up from any coach.
